Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression (NSSD)
Have you been diagnosed with, or suspect you might have a bulging or slipped disc?
Chronic back and neck pain are two of the most common problems facing people today. The most common mechanical causes of this, especially as we age, are disorders of the intervertebral discs.
Your disc has two main parts. An inner gel-like component called the nucleus pulposus and an outer part of multiple hard rings called the annulus fibrosis. Due to many different factors which can range from poor posture habits, too much-prolonged sitting, bad genetic influences, old injuries, or long-standing spinal misalignments, these discs can start to wear and tear prematurely and lead to what is known as discogenic pain (pain coming from the disc).
Symptoms can range from a persistent ache or tired-ness in the back, to sharp and debilitating pain that prevents even small amounts of movement. If the disc has enough inflammation around it or has reached a more advanced stage of degeneration the exiting nerves may become affected and cause pain, numbness or tingling into the arms or legs, among other symptoms.
If you have any of these problems or have been diagnosed with degenerative disc disorder please schedule a consultation with our doctor to determine if a program of non-surgical spinal decompression (NSSD) is right for you!
